WHEN TO REACH OUT
The business needs a CRO-level perspective and operating discipline, but the right involvement may be fractional or interim rather than a permanent full-time appointment.
Sales, marketing and customer teams are active, yet the motion lacks focus or consistency. You need someone to connect the plan, people and execution.
A leadership gap, new growth stage or change in direction has created an immediate operating need. The team needs clear priorities, decisions and continuity.
POTENTIAL MANDATES
Align revenue priorities across marketing, sales and customer functions. Establish ownership, review performance and lead the commercial decisions within the agreed remit.
Translate market choices into a workable sales motion. Focus customer segments, positioning, channels and execution priorities around the capacity and economics of the business.
Assess the structure, manager capability, pipeline process and sales behaviors. Set a practical rhythm for coaching, accountability and resolving obstacles.
Bring consistency to pipeline definitions, forecast discussions, reporting and management routines. Make the information more useful for decisions and cross-functional planning.
Connect acquisition promises to onboarding, service and customer outcomes. Clarify the handoffs and responsibilities that support retention and expansion.
Provide operating continuity during a leadership transition. Lead the agreed function, support the team and prepare a structured handover when the next leader is ready.
FROM ASSESSMENT TO OWNERSHIP
The engagement begins with a clear sponsor, decision authority and access to the people and information needed to do the work. We agree which outcomes the role owns and which remain with other leaders.
My experience spans general management, revenue leadership, sales and service operations. That matters when a growth issue crosses functions: the work must connect commercial ambition to staffing, delivery, customer experience and financial discipline.

A PRACTICAL START
Review the current plan, customer segments, pipeline, team structure and operating measures. Speak with the people doing the work to understand where execution is getting stuck.
Choose the priorities, owners and measures of progress. Define the decisions to make now, the work to sequence and the initiatives to pause.
Run the agreed management cadence, coach leaders, resolve cross-functional issues and review progress with the sponsor. Adjust the plan as the evidence changes.
MAKE THE ENGAGEMENT CLEAR
Agree the commercial mandate, weekly involvement, on-site or remote expectations and the leaders the role will work with.
Depending on scope, the work may include a GTM plan, revenue operating cadence, forecast process, team responsibilities or a prioritized execution roadmap.
Select progress measures appropriate to the business, such as pipeline quality, conversion, forecast reliability or retention. Review the work regularly and plan for continuity after the engagement.
